REFLECTION OF CULTURAL AND GENDER STEREOTYPES IN UKRAINIAN SYMBOLS AND THEIR ROLE IN THE FORMATION OF STYLISTIC FIGURES

Анотація

This article highlights the formation and functioning of gender-labeled Ukrainian symbols. The research focuses on the use of symbolic stylistic figures in Ukrainian folklore and literary texts of the late eighteenth century to the present day. The findings has a linguistic dimension studing the lexical meaning and the mechanisms of its creation, as well as the ethnolinguistic and gender dimension, as it seeks to describe the influence of culture and gender stereotypes on the development, formation and functioning of the analyzed stylistic figures. The study of the stylistic figures from an ethnolinguistic perspective sheds light on the stereotypical symbolic representations of men and women that were common at a certain time and still prevails in the Ukrainian society today.
