The article analyzes the most widely used Internet resources by the author of this research for learning English listening comprehension and characterizes the advisability of using various types of textual help options (transcripts, subtitles / captions, glossaries, on-line dictionaries, grammatical explanations, cultural explanations, reviews) when problems in comprehension occur, as well as to achieve the didactic goals of the lesson. Describing the web-sites, the author has set herself the goal of helping teachers to understand what to pay attention to when choosing a particular resource, to explore how students use the help options of web-sites, which of them are the most useful and most used, what Internet resources can be used for collaborative learning. The research took the author of the abstract to the idea that the authors of the web-sites should create two texts with similar lexical content: one text with the help options for home work, and the second – without help options – to control during the class the degree of home formed listening skills. Since while listening in the classroom, help options are usually not available to students because of the lack of Internet or personal computers, and at home they can use all available help options. The paper reviews foreign research on this topic.
